3. Cricketing suicides. One of the books that I really want to buy (if available in second hand :-) )
4. Blind guess - Days in the sun ? (because you called it a masterpiece, impossible to guess otherwise - could be pretty much any of his works)
5. Gideon Haigh certainly has a recent book by that name (or a collection of his articles, not sure) but I am pretty sure that it is far as from being the only work with that title. Cardus is one of the authors of a book with that name.

I agree with anon. re the answers given, and would also be interested to know the answer to 4.

In terms of David Frith's book, Silence of the Heart was originally published as "By his Own Hand". A very interesting book and well worth tracking down.
